Planning and developing a story

Over a few sessions C-L has planned and edited a story that has reflected the work on developing sentence structures and building detailed description

Key Stage 4 - Romeo and Juliet 

Digging deeper into the relationships and the role of masculinity and toxic masculinity! We looked at how language has been used to explore the tempestuous relationship between Tybalt and Benvolio.

Year 2 - Science - 
               Our bodies!

After learning about the different bones in our skeleton, we worked together to create a poem that captures the facts through creativity. This pupil is a reluctant writer, so we worked together to capture his ideas. This piece of work was made all the more fun, by the Dad rapping the poem at the end of the session!

Speech Punctuation 

Using speech bubbles to support learning to punctuate speech – and utilising the students love of all thing Harry Potter.
Using a shared screen allows for instant feedback on the student’s progress.

Learning that motivates by including individual interests

As the student engages with the activity other learning can take place – looking at spelling patterns and rules.

Sessions can be instantly adapted to address misconceptions.

Key Stage 3 Cross Curricular Writing

Research on what life was like during the Elizabethan times to write a diary about going to a local market. Fronted adverbials, first person pronouns, expanded noun phrases and emotive language to express the changing emotions of the character.

Key Stage 3 Read and understand Act 1 of A Midsummer Nights Dream by William Shakespeare

A discussion about character analysis and understanding of the rebellious nature of Hermia, compared to what was expected of Elizabethan woman. All creatively put together into a story board - to demonstrate knowledge and understanding.
